Welcome to AFC Waverton

AFC Waverton is one of the largest junior football clubs in the Chester area. With over 600 boys and girls aged 5 - 18 in 41 teams we are committed to providing football to all children within our community.

AFC Waverton is recognised as a well-established 2-star FA Accredited Club with child protection and safety paramount. The award recognises the club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game.

Our teams compete in the Chester & District Junior Football League, Chester & Wirral Football League, Eastham & District Junior Football League, Mid-Cheshire Youth Football League, Cheshire Girls Football League & Cheshire Womens & Youth Football League.

The club is categorised as a 2-star FA Accredited Club which means we have well-established coaching practices and offer a wide range of football content for different abilities across both male and female pathways.

New Minis Sessions starting!

To all boys and girls in Reception and Year 1 - we would like to invite you to join our football club!

If you're interested in training with us, improving your football skills, keeping fit whilst having lots of fun and being part of a team, please get in touch - all are welcome!

Training sessions are led by our professional UEFA A Licenced football coach, supported by a team of trained coaching volunteers.

Training is held on the 3G pitch at Christleton High School on Saturday mornings between 9 - 10am - next season starts… Saturday 7^thSeptember.

New OPEN AGE TEAM Sessions Now On!

We have started our sessions with the Women's Open age team which have been a great success so far, with a regular slot planned from September onwards. If you're aged 16+ and are interested to understand our plans and get involved, please reach out to afcwavertongirls@gmail.com - no prior experience is necessary - we have plans for all potential players!

Our new Men's Open age team has also started with the season now underway with training on Wednesdays. Please reach out to club.registrations@afcwaverton.com and hear our plans and take part!

Player Recruitment

We always welcome enquiries for new players into the club - we try to include as many as possible into existing or new teams where there is capacity; however if that is not possible we can advise on waiting list/training only options.
For 2024-25 season the following teams are particularly looking for new players:

u14 Hornets (Chester & District Junior Football League)
u14 Jaguars (Cheshire Girls Football League)
u15 Wasps (Mid-Cheshire Junior Football League)
u16 Arrows (Chester & District Junior Football League)
u16 Girls Warriors (Cheshire Girls Football League)
u18 Girls (Cheshire Women's & Youth Football League)

AGM 2024

Our AGM was held on Thursday 13th June, where we discussed the season just gone and shared our plans for the future - thank you to all coaches and members that joined. Looking forward to the new season already!
