AFC Waverton is one of the largest junior football clubs in the Chester area. With over 320 boys and girls aged 5 - 15 in 26 teams we are committed to providing football to all children within our community.

AFC Waverton is an FA Charter Standard Club with child protection and safety paramount. The award also recognises the club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game

Local Company supports Local Young Football Stars

AFC Waverton Junior Football Club are delighted to announce a new Shirt and coaching sponsorship deal with Birch Heath Lodge Nursing Home in Christleton. Birch Heath Lodge is part of the Mary Malliband Care Group and in Christleton they provide care for up to 38 residents.

All associated with AFC Waverton would like to express their gratitude for this generosity – and pictured are some of the ladies who play for AFC ladies, Ladies football development manager David Harker and ladies coaches Robbie Mills and Paul Bowman receiving a cheque from the Manager of Birch Heath Lodge Nursing home Ann Evans and the Homes administrator Ann Gregory.

AFC Waverton gains FA Charter Status


The club is delighted to announce that it has achieved FA Charter Status. The FA Charter Standard Award provides recognition that AFC Waverton is a well run and sustainable junior football club, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises the club's commitment to coaching, player & coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game - all of which are big priorities for The FA.

AFC Waverton - Club of the Year 2009

AFC Waverton has been awarded the prestigious club of the year award in a recent Cheshire West and Chester awards ceremony.


Graham Frost - Volunteer of Year 2009

Club chairman, Graham Frost, is awarded Volunteer of the Year 2009 - recognition for all his efforts in steering the progress of the club and bringing football to over 300 children in the area. Well done and Thank you!

Hannah Jones 

Hannah Jones, the Christleton High School sixth former  has won the BBC Switch Live 2009 Teen Hero award for raising an amazing £48,000 for brain cancer charities whilst receiving treatment for a brain tumour herself.
