Wildcats update

Our new Wildcats group is up and running and will be having fun 5:30-6:30 every Wednesday until the end of July. Any girls aged 5-11 are very welcome. We are on the field in Waverton. Email Mike Worden afcwavertongirls@gmail.com or call/text 07901552261 for more information. 
  

Junior Football Festival at The Cheshire County Sports Club on 21st July 2018

A junior football Festival being held for the first time at The Cheshire County Sports Club on 21st July.

We are having 2 age groups for the first event (current under 7’s and under 8’s)

The day will be split into:-

 

  • AM = Under 7’s
  • PM = Under 8’s

 

All games will be played on our fabulous new 3G pitch with official referee’s

Entry is £60 per team.

Matches will be 1 x half of 10 minutes.

Teams will be 6 a-side with a squad limit of 9 players.

8 teams per age group MAX = 2 x groups of 4 teams, followed by Semi-Final and Final.

 

There will be lots of food/drink available, our clubhouse will be fully open and with good weather it will be a fabulous day.

Raising funds for AFC Waverton at Waitrose

AFC Waverton Girls has been chosen as one of Waitrose Chester’s three charities for this month.  Shoppers are given a green token when they pay for their shopping which they then put into one of three local charity ‘boxes’.  At the end of the month, Waitrose total up and issue a cheque to the three charities.....the more green tokens the better...happy shopping.

Our club had a great night at LFC Ladies vs Arsenal Women at our Sister Club game, part of our partnership with Liverpool Ladies. Smiles all around despite the score!!

AFC Waverton adopt new Abbeygate pitch for training

Carl Broadhurst’s u10s have recently adopted the new pitch at Abbeygate School as their new training base. The facility was officially opened recently and AFC Waverton as a community club were invited to the party.

Simon Smith recently represented AFC Waverton at the launch event for the new 3G pitch (which a number of teams use for training) at the Cheshire.

Coach celebrates 60th birthday
